Gently guided by the hands and verbal explanation of your teacher, you acquire an increased awareness of your body.

You learn to release muscular tension.

You learn to let go of harmful physical habits and move with more ease and poise.

Your teacher will work gently on your body, at first while lying on a padded table. Then there will be some work involving sitting in a chair and standing up in a mindful way. 

These activities, which we all perform many times in a day, involve ankles, knees and hips and are well-suited to practice a range of movements with minimal effort.

The aim is to teach you the principles of the Alexander Technique so that you can apply them in your daily life, either with the help of a teacher or by yourself.
